⚜  CLERIC PRAYERS
TEMPORAL
◆ Gifts of the Just +1 to Strength and +1 to Wisdom permanently. Free Detect Lies general skill. Clerics are bound by Maat’s Code: always challenge before attacking; grant an honourable death if requested by a brother; never reveal the order’s secrets; uphold the law of the land you reside in.
CELESTIAL
◆ Scales of Truth When the cleric casts Detect Lie (or Zone of Truth), the targeted creature may not remain silent — they must answer or be struck mute for 1 turn. Additionally the cleric automatically knows when any creature within 30 ft is lying, as a constant passive sense.
◆ Maat’s Judgment When the cleric casts Cause Light Wounds on a creature that has committed a genuine injustice (murder, betrayal, false witness) within the past week, the spell deals maximum damage with no saving throw. Maat’s judgment does not miss the guilty.
EMPYREAL
◆ Righteous Order When the cleric casts Hold Person on a Chaotic-aligned creature the saving throw is made at -4. Maat’s laws bind the lawless tightly. Against Neutral creatures the save is at -2. Against Lawful creatures the save is made normally — they are already subject to law’s discipline.
ETERNAL
◆ Binding Word When the cleric casts Quest on a creature that has violated a sworn oath or broken a law they publicly accepted, the spell requires no saving throw — the binding is automatic. Maat does not allow those who break their word to escape the consequences.
HIERARCH
◆ Final Judgment Once per week the cleric may call Final Judgment on one creature. That creature must immediately confess all crimes committed in the past year to all who can hear. They cannot resist or obscure this confession. After confession the cleric determines the just punishment — Maat’s law is complete.
★  PALADIN / AVENGER
◆ Detect Lies + Maat’s Code  [Paladin · Passive] Paladins gain Lay on Hands (standard). Free Detect Lies skill. Bound by Maat’s Code (same as clerics). Paladins of Maat are among the most rigidly honourable warriors in the Known World — they may never strike an unarmed or helpless foe and must accept legitimate challenges to single combat.
⚔  FIGHTER PRAYERS  (9th level+)
TEMPORAL
◆ Challenger’s Honour When the fighter formally challenges one opponent to single combat before attacking, the fighter gains +2 to attack and +2 to AC against that specific opponent for the duration of the duel. Accepting a proper challenge is Maat’s most basic martial gift.
CELESTIAL
◆ Truth’s Edge The fighter’s attacks against creatures that have broken oaths, committed betrayals, or lied to the fighter within the past day deal +1d6 additional damage. Maat’s blade finds the guilty without hesitation.
EMPYREAL
◆ Maat’s Endurance The fighter is immune to fear effects from Chaotic-aligned creatures. Additionally the fighter may reroll saving throws vs. enchantment (charm, compulsion) effects originating from Chaotic sources — they must take the second result.
ETERNAL
◆ Justice Made Manifest Once per day the fighter may declare one target as subject to Maat’s Justice. For the rest of that combat the fighter automatically hits that target on any attack roll of 2 or higher (only a natural 1 misses). The target must be genuinely guilty of a crime or injustice — Maat does not enable abuse of the power.
HIERARCH
◆ Avatar of Justice The fighter cannot be affected by illusions, Charm spells, or mind-altering effects from Evil-aligned sources. When the fighter strikes a creature that has committed an act of true evil within the past month, the first such strike in a combat is automatically a critical hit. Maat’s greatest champion sees and strikes truth.
