Currency of the Savage Baronies
The Savage Baronies utilize a shared monetary standard, and most baronies mint their own coinage. Coin sizes are generally consistent across the region, making them interchangeable in value (a Cimmaron coin is worth the same as a Toreoner coin of the same denomination). Guadalante, Texeiras, and Vilaverde do not mint their own currency.
Standard Coinage:
- Mil (cp): The common copper piece, which is twice the size of a standard foreign copper coin.
- Centa (sp/bp variation): A dull gray standard bronze piece mixed with silver, used as the next highest denomination.
- Dies (de-EHS, sp): The standard silver piece, which is also double the size and weight of a standard foreign silver coin.
- Medio (ep): The uncommon electrum piece.
- Oro (gp): The standard gold piece.
- Real (ray-AHL, pp): The rare platinum piece, typically only minted in the barony of Cimmaron or acquired from outside the Baronies.
Common Foreign Coins in Circulation:
- Thyatian coins bearing the likeness of Emperor Justinian are still commonly found and used.
- Lawful Brotherhood silver trade coins of 1sp, 2sp, and 3sp varieties are also prevalent.
